I happened to read about an article that says there is an environment friendly SEO. Of course, I was really curious; and in order to satisfy curiosity in its full glory, I read the entire article.
The use of internet has actually a bad impact to our environment. It is very startling to know that the mere activity of searching with the use of Google produces as much as seven grams of carbon dioxide, according to researchers from Harvard University. This would mean that since SEO tasks require searching as its primary activity, we would have produced millions or worse, a billion grams of carbon dioxide everyday!
The drive to save the earth by conserving energy in a lot more ways is inevitable. Everyone must participate and this does not exclude the SEO professionals and their team workers. As a response to make SEO an earth-friendly activity, Blackle is born. It is supposedly another version of Google search engine with black background. It saves a lot of energy because it uses black screen, unlike Google that uses a lot of energy to render the white background. However, this is not an idealistic alternative because it does not include other web services that Google have such as YouTube, Gmail, and many more.
Using Blackle really helps us reduce carbon dioxide emission by saving as much as 1,205,728.950 Watt hours. We should use it if we can to help save the earth in our little own way.
