Search engine optimization is the process of boosting the site performance through higher level of online visibility. Online visibility is achieved by getting higher ranking in the search engine results page. That is why it is also apt to coin SEO as the process of increasing the site’s ranking in the search engine listing.

SEO involves two main processes: the onsite optimization and offsite optimization. Onsite optimization is done by revising or improving the content of the site HTML codes. It is done to make it more search engine friendly. This is where Meta tags generating is included such as putting unique keywords for every web pages as well as putting web page title and description. Codes such as JavaScript and flash are minimized in order to make the web page more spiderable.

Web content for each web page are also done for onsite optimization. There must be quality content for every web page. The content is what makes every page unique. So the effort of doing this is worth it because search engines usually take a look at web content to measure its relevancy and usefulness. Make sure the web contents are informative; through it, you give informative pieces of knowledge that users would benefit from.
